On April 23, 2024, representatives of the Folk Art and Tradition group Salmorenc, led by Nicolas Charlety, director of the Cultural Center of the Peoples of the World in Lyon, arrived in Uzbekistan.
The main purpose of the visit was to establish cultural relations between Uzbekistan and France, introduce the rich cultural heritage of Uzbekistan to the French public, and develop cooperation projects in the fields of applied art, science, and culture. Nicolas Charlety, director of the Centre des Cultures du Monde de Voiron, met with the founder and CEO of Bukhari Creative Group, Sevara Ibrokhim. During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on cooperation in the fields of culture and art and strengthening cultural ties.
Bukhari Creative Group works on research about Islamic art, cultural, material, and intangible heritage of Central Asia, and the scientific works created by encyclopedic scientists and Islamic scholars through a modern approach. The group uses innovative technologies to create international scientific and creative projects, aiming to adequately promote Uzbekistan's cultural heritage.
In turn, the Centre des Cultures du Monde de Voiron is a center dedicated to increasing the interest of the French in world culture and art.
The center organizes various cultural events for children between the ages of 6 and 11 to spark their interest in different arts and cultures. These include creative activities such as dance, music, practical art, storytelling, cooking, film presentations, and language learning. These cultural and creative activities help children develop skills such as art learning, experimentation, discovery, communication, openness, and tolerance.
To strengthen the cultural dialogue between France and Uzbekistan, a memorandum of understanding was signed between BUKHARI CREATIVE GROUP and the Centre des Cultures du Monde de Voiron. Both parties agreed to cooperate on creative projects in the future.
