Exhibition in Voiron, "Silk Road: From East to West"

Our latest cultural initiative  took place on October the 9-15th, in the historic and vibrant city of Voiron, France. The purpose of this event was to exhibit and present the theme of "Silk Road: From East to West," in partnership with the Centres des Cultures du Monde à Voiron, which brings together a tapestry of craftsmanship and artistry. This project showcases the extraordinary talents of artisans from Uzbekistan, each a master of their craft.

The exhibition features traditional techniques such as sericulture and embroidery, which are not merely skills but living testaments to the legacy of the Silk Road—a pathway for the exchange of goods, ideas, and artistry that has nurtured generations of artisans.

Among the featured artists of this showcase is Madina Kasymbaeva, a renowned traditional embroiderer who also led a master class on traditional patterns and designs. Joining her is miniature artist and book restorer Davlat Toshev, both of whom play vital roles in reshaping and enriching the craftsmanship of their homeland.

With the words of Nicholas Charlety, the director of the Centres des Cultures , “It’s an honor to host such exceptional artists in our country. Each participant was left amazed by the intricate designs and works of miniature art pieces”, we would like to take a moment to remember the beauty of Central Asian craft work and express our deep appreciation for the hard work of our skilled artisans.
