CraftMeetsDesign is a unique platform that promotes local craft heritage and works to protect and revitalise practices that are both sustainable and ethical but are at risk of disappearing.  It provides an ecosystem which will help to:

• Promote our local heritage and applied arts internationally, telling the world the unique stories of Uzbek artisans
• Give access to the international market for craftspeople, whose businesses were badly impacted by the pandemic (as their main audience and source of income was from tourism), broadening the pool of customers and partners
• Create new positions, such as digital marketing specialists and online retailers, engaging young people in it
• Help to develop a viable tourism strategy for regions where the crafts are developed but tourism is still underdeveloped, for example, the Fergana Valley
• Contribute to the economy with job creation and market reach, increasing the export of unique Uzbek craft products
